First round of Mens accuracy started today. The mens team was fired up and ready to go. After the wind drift indicators and 8 lifts later they boarded the Pilatus Porter for their turn on the tuffet. The accuracy event is scored by the jumper placing their heal closest to the 2 centimeter dot located in the center of the tuffet. The scoring pad is electronic and tells the jumper his SSG Ryan Ray lands on target in the first round.exact score within seconds. The judges surround the tuffet to make sure the jumpers heel touches first.  The mens team did well, especially since only SSG Acevedo trains and competes regulary in The Team gives each other High Fives after the first roundaccuracy. After each had landed high fives to the womans team and then off to pack.

That would be the only jump for the morning, but after the lunch break, they headed back for round two. After a short weather hold and a injury by one of the other teams, they got back in the plane. The skies were clouding up and the ceiling dropped. But they got out and did even better this round. SFC Eric Heinsheimer got his first dead center ever in a competition.  It would be the final jump for the day for everyone. The ceiling dropped so again we were put on hold.

During the weather holds the various time killer activities began. Many teams had soccer balls and volleyballs. The Austrians pulled out a football and some of us joined in. We ended up teaching the Germans, Italians, The US decorated teantAustrians and Swiss how to throw an American football. It was quite entertaining. But it was the United Arab Emirates who showed everyone their version of dodge ball.  It eventually became the crowd favorite as more people joined in.

The day ended in rain with only 1 and half rounds complete.  Hopefully the rain will clear up and jumping can resume tomorrow. The womans team take their turn at accuracy. You can follow the competition at the CISM website.
