DAY 7: LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

“The difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful person is how they react during difficult times.  Successful people always think positively and are motivated to succeed and better themselves.”

- Anthony Morrison

Breakfast of Champions Part 7– A lunch box with a thermos on top. Not really, but the cycle’s begun again. Today’s treat?  Back to baked chicken with boiled green beans and rice.

The alternative?  My grade school days have traumatized me to the point that I still cannot eat a bologna sandwich.  By the time we leave here, I may feel the same about a salami sandwich with cheese and butter.  Actually, it’s not that bad.

With our first jump this morning, the competition has officially begun for TEAM USA’s 8-Way Team (GK-8).   But before we let the cat out of the bag, you may be asking…

“WHO ARE THE TOP TEAMS IN THE WORLD?”

Here’s a quick peek at the three strongest horses in the 8-Way race:

The Americans We assembled this Team in 2009.  The last time the United States took home the Ottley Sword for 8-Way was in 1997, when the Golden Knights set a World Record with 31 points.  The only remaining members of that 8-Way Team are SFC Matt Davidson, who was an alternate at the time and SFC Eric Heinsheimer, and he’s here NOT as a competitor, but as a Competition Judge in training.

The Russians have an 8-Way Team that consists of all professional skydivers and has been together since the 1990’s with literally thousands of 8-Way jumps together.

.

The French are the current World Champions and keepers of the Ottley Sword.  Their current Team consists of four members from their 2008 World Championship 8-Way Team and four competitors from their 4-Way Team.
