The conditions today were perfect for the slalom runs. It was slightly overcast to start with just enough cold to keep the snow fast. The course consisted of a series of gates over a span of 1000 feet. After two runs apiece and a great deal of fun had by all, the winners were announced. SGT Richard Sloan of the All American Freefall Team took Gold in the Classic Accuracy portion while SSG Todd Beckel, of the Golden Knights, followed him up with Silver. Adding Beckel’s awesome ski run time placed him as the Overall Classic Para-Ski Champion for 2010. Congratulations, Todd!! Lots of awesome pictures were taken and as soon as this blogger gets to a computer with internet, you can check them out right here. In other news, the team returns to Fort Bragg, NC and prepares for another week of training at Laurinburg, NC with the German Military Parachute Team in preparation for CISM, the World Military Parachuting Competition to be held in Switzerland this summer. Pictured are SGT Richard Sloan and SSG Todd Beckel proudly showing off their new medals and trophy.
