Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense spends day with the Golden Knights

Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense WIlliam Lietzau

Another fantastic day with the Golden Knights Tandem Team.  Today we had another distinguished visitor. William Lietzau who recently retired from the USMC and is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense  Detainee Policy, took a few hours out of his busy visit to Fort Bragg to jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

The weather tried to keep everyone on the ground today. As we patiently watched the clouds slowly break apart and show a hint of blue skies William Lietzau and members of the tandem team talked about daily operations of a Golden Knight, and the tactical side of military free fall.  Before we knew it the clouds were parting, the sun was shining, and we were heading to 13, 500 ft. SFC  Mike Elliott had the honor of taking Mr Lietzau on the jump and SSG Jared Zell took the photos and video of the jump.

Also jumping today was COL Stephen Berg from XVIII ABN CORPS Jag office and a medic from Fort Bragg.
